BT Selects TeleCity |
TeleCity, an European provider of data center and managed services, yesterday announced that BT, a provider of communications solutions, has selected its core infrastructure services and fibre connectivity to help facilitate broadcasting of the 2006 Winter Olympics, which takes place in Turin, Italy from 10–26 February next year.
BT is providing European connectivity to cover the XXth Olympic Winter Games. In the run up to and duration of the Games, TeleCity will provide fibre connectivity between BT servers and Telecom Italia's network in its Harbour Exchange data centre in London.
Martin Maters, General Manager Data Transport Services, BT Global Services, said, "TeleCity offered us the most appropriate data center environment and infrastructure for this particular event. Their carrier-neutral services demonstrate consistently high levels of performance, which is imperative for an event of this magnitude."
