Meriton Networks Completes Acquisition of Mahi Networks |
Meriton Networks, provider of the optical networking foundation for 21st century networks, today announced that it has completed the acquisition of Mahi Networks. Uniting Meriton's industry-leading portfolio of high-speed optical networking systems with Mahi's award-winning Reconfigurable Optical Add/Drop Multiplexer (ROADM) solutions, this combination delivers to telecom service providers and network operators worldwide a truly unified, end-to-end Agile Optical Networking (AON) solution.
Designed to give network operators mission flexibility and operational simplicity with the lowest total cost of ownership, Meriton's AON portfolio brings together a series of 'best-in-class' products under a unified management system, uniquely allowing network operators to build out optical networks with true flexibility, including a choice of technology (OEO or WSS- based ROADMs) and architectural deployment (ring and mesh).
"Since we announced the acquisition in early October, the customer response has been excellent," said Mike Pascoe, president and CEO of Meriton Networks. "The completion of this acquisition signals a new era of agile networking solutions, which deliver the necessary levels of mission flexibility, integration, interoperability and cost-effectiveness."
"We are well on track with the integration of the companies," said Bill Gartner, chief operating officer with Meriton Networks. "With the massive growth in consumer broadband as well as business Ethernet services, the timing for delivering a unified portfolio of high-speed networking products could not be better." |
