McAfee, Inc. Provides Subscribers of MSN Premium With McAfee VirusScan and Firewall |
McAfee, Inc.
(NYSE: MFE), the leader in Intrusion Prevention and Security Risk Management,
today announced it has renewed its contract with MSN, world leader in
delivering Web services to consumers and online advertising opportunities to
businesses worldwide, to provide McAfee(R) VirusScan(R) and McAfee(R) Personal
Firewall Plus to subscribers of MSN Premium.
McAfee VirusScan(R) detects, blocks, and removes viruses, spyware, worms,
Trojans, and dialers. VirusScan automatically scans files, e-mail attachments,
Internet downloads, and instant messaging attachments. With automated, daily
updates, VirusScan's always-on protection coupled with McAfee's worldwide
virus and spyware monitoring activities helps protect important digital files
and personal information to prevent identity theft and poor PC performance.
McAfee(R) VirusScan(R) was recently awarded PC Magazine's Editors' Choice
award.
McAfee(R) Personal Firewall Plus continuously monitors consumers'
broadband, dial-up, or wireless Internet connections, preventing unwanted
traffic to and from the PC. Personal Firewall Plus helps prevent hacker
attacks, preventing the unsolicited access and distribution of personally
identifiable information.
MSN Premium includes McAfee SecurityCenter which provides consumers with a
Security Index that assesses, informs, and warns consumers about PC security
vulnerabilities, and then provides recommendations to quickly help protect a
consumer's PC.
