Internet TV Boosts Shopping TV Revenues |
TV1.DE, the leading European Internet Television provider, today reported a 300% increase in Direct-Response Internet Television contracts with leading Retail TV broadcasters in the past quarter.
"It's no secret that Broadband Internet is stealing eyeballs from traditional TV", said Jeffrey Niedermayer, TV1`s Business Development Director. "Retail TV is really beginning to capitalize on this shift in consumer behaviour - broadcasting to consumer's home-office PC's, offering instant impulse purchasing".
"I was really surprised that it was such a success", said Dr. Andreas Buechelhofer, CEO at 1-2-3TV - the most popular German TV Auction channel. "In Home Shopping, you can expect 5-7% of your business from the Internet. Internet sales now account for 20% of our total sales, and we expect that to grow".
Other key TV1 customers include Deluxe Music, Home Shopping Europe, TV Shop, Astro TV, BestSeller TV, and leading enterprises including Bayer Pharmaceuticals, BMW, MTV-Viacom, the European Commission, EADS, and Metro Group.
"This is a real business, not a fantasy anymore", said Michael Westphal, TV1's CEO. "Read the tech journals. Recent high-profile M&A in the IPTV sector is another validation of what's to come". |
