The growth of Weblogs, Inc. has been accelerated by the AOL purchase, and I am looking for a few good bloggers. I
need writers who can make a daily (or near-daily) commitment to observing, documenting, and commenting upon the
evolution of Google as it pertains to the entire search industry. All blogging positions at Weblogs, Inc. are paid
positions.
We are deluged with front-page applications nearly always. And everyone has an
opinion about Google. So if you’re interested in this gig, please be a cut above in at least one crucial area:
- Have a deep background in following the development of Google and all its services and features.
- Have an even longer background tracking the online search industry, for perspective and context.
- Be more than just a reporter. All points of the viewpoint spectrum are welcome to apply, save the extremes: no
anti-Google or Google fanboy agendas would fit here. If you’re fair, any editorial stance can probably work.
- Be an experienced blogger. If not, be an experienced professional writer in other formats. If neither, be one
hell of a natural. Natural, unproven talents do make it in here.
- Be willing to submit sample entries if you don’t have a blogging portfolio to show off. Taking the initiative, so
I don’t have to ask, gets my attention.
Please note that this blog is not being handed off, and you would be blogging under some editorial direction at
first. This is not a transfer of power; it’s the start of team-building. Having said that, Weblogs, Inc. is famous for
hiring good people and getting out of their way, so if you make a good fit you can expect to blog with an extreme
degree of editorial freedom.
To query about this opportunity, email me directly (bradhill@gmail.com). DO NOT
use the comment fields to inquire. When writing, please include the word “googleblogger” in the subject header. If you
leave out that word, there’s a good chance I won’t see your letter.
I manage several channels at Weblogs, Inc., and am also seeking talent to write about Yahoo!, Search Engine Marketing,
and the deployment of Web 2.0 in all areas. Expansion is in the wind here, so if your area of expertise doesn’t quite
match what I’m posting, feel free to introduce yourself anyway.
Thanks for reading!
