Oily mist from refinery covers Martinez neighborhoods |

Speckles of reddish-brown oil spewed by the Shell Oil refinery covered dozens of vehicles, homes, outdoor furniture and pets Wednesday. A mist of "oil slurry" blanketed several neighborhoods in downtown Martinez after leaking from a catalytic cracking unit about 8:35 p.m. Tuesday, but posed no health hazards, a Shell news release said. |
