I don’t know which is bigger news, Google’s latest
insistence that
it’s index is bigger than Yahoo!’s (three times bigger, in fact), or the fact the Eric Schmidt delivered the
proclamation to Elinor Mills at CNET. That’s the CNET that Google was petulantly boycotting. That’s the Elinor Mills
who wrote the original article that so offended Google. So … what’s up? Is Google’s worst PR debacle now water under
the bridge? Everybody just forgets about the childish and unjustifiable year-long boycott? Google doesn’t publicly
acknowledge that it made an ass of itself and, perhaps, apologize? Eh, whatever. Congrats to Elinor Mills for
granting the interview. And about Google’s index size … eh, whatever to that, too. Relevance, children,
relevance.
