11/30/2005 9:46:02 AM - Recently, Maxell Corporation announced their latest venture into optical storage media. What's it called? Holographic media. The discs measure about 13cm in diameter and can hold a potential 1.6TB on a single disc. Maxell is saying that the first holographic media will hit the market in late 2006 with capacities starting around 300GB per disc and as the technology is perfected, disc capacity will also grow. Sound's like this already has HD DVD and Blu Ray beat with their comparativly small capacities., |
