It’s impossible to know where the truth lies after reading a single summary report, but the alleged saga of
Christina Elwell makes a harrowing
read.
Elwell, once a national sales representative, is suing Google for job discrimination, claiming she was demoted during a
pregnancy. The woman, bearing quadruplets, lost one fetus after another while wrestling with her job status. Meanwhile,
Google is still wrangling with Microsoft over the
hiring of Kai-Fu Lee from Microsoft. Microsoft has
obtained a court order preventing Lee from working on anything similar to his Microsoft job—a requirement that
seems singularly difficult to enforce.
