The NY Times has
discovered Maps mashups, and is running a standard backgrounder. One interesting tidbit I wasn’t aware of,
though—Google is reportedly seeking royalty agreements with successful and profitable mashups. this isn’t AdSense
revenue sharing, as far as I can tell, but sharing of business revenue enhanced by a mashup. The example given is a
California real estate company that runs a listing mashup called Trulia. Anyway,
this is a good time to revisit Google Maps Mania, which is continuing
to track mashup developments and has built an impressive list of them.
