Googlewhacking is fun and all, but I’d never heard of anyone taking it off-the-chart seriously until I heard about
Dave Gorman. Gorman has indulged his Googlewhacking obsession for a few years, starting with compulsive attempts to
create a one-match Google result from two legitimate keywords. That’s a
Googlewhack. The obsession shifted into high gear when Gorman travelled
around the world three times (90,000 miles) to visit owners of Googlewhacked sites. Then came the theater show based on
Googlewhacking. Then the book. I don’t know what Gorman wants to be when he grows up, but he’s doing pretty well just
playing a game. In addition to all of the above, Gorman writes a
weekly column for Guardian Unlimited.
